August 1981 - This is a listing for Warren's upcoming releases I found in an old issue of the comic magazine The Comic Reader.Reading that first paragraph makes me sad--Warren was so desperate for writers they were actually soliciting work from people who had never been published before?
Far be it from me to look down on people's talents just because they had never been published (Lord knows I was on the opposite side of that dynamic for a few years after art school), but considering that Warren, in its heyday, had published some of the greatest names in comics--Davis, Morrow, Crandall, Wood, Adams, Ditko, Goodwin, Toth, Wrightson, Frazetta, Eisner--this listing struck me how Warren went out with a whimper, not a bang.
