I always loved how Marvel was willing to make any of their characters, no matter how villainous, look a little silly in the service of Selling Marvel Comics. Where else would you see an ad featuring baby-like versions of Conan, Frankenstein, and Simon Garth, drawn by Alfredo Alcala no less?

cool idea, there's a lot of good material there and i'm glad DH is putting it back out there.
but as you can probably tell, i'm obsessive about my formats, and i'm disappointed SSOC will be reprinted standard comic size, and probably on that realy glossy paper DH uses for the other reprint series.
i obviously have no commercial sense, but to me the cruddy paper and bigger size ADDS something to the material.
or maybe i'm just a hopeless nostalgia-driven whiny fanboy.

With you there; not to razz your site nicknames, but size DOES matter!
I recall very well being pissed as comics size was slowly chipped away during the '70's; "full-sized" pages, ala Gold to Silver, really DO represent the art better.
(Why do they think TV screens have gotten ever BIGGER in the same period? Duh-UH!)
What REALLY torked me was when, after the Biggies decided that price caps were gone forever, they DIDN'T take the obvious opportunity to say, "o.k.- it won't be a Quarter, it'll be $3 - but we'll give the SIZE back to you!"
(Of course, this may tie into the story as to why Treasuries died: collectors whining to publishers, "whaaaa - they won't fit in my boxes!"
Oy.)
This even screws Archive editions: any art from before the late 70's is actually being REDUCED there!
(And yeah, reflective paper is bad, too; they don't have to go back to yellowing newsprint, but they could've atayed with cream Mando!)
Arrgh.

I can understand your passion, but I gotta get my Savage Conan when and how I can as I was diapers when it originally came out.
As format and larger sizes are you into European comics, which are published in a bigger book format?
